Teams in the Big State League will be locally-owned and located in rural and resort markets throughout the state of Texas. Plans call for the inaugural season (2007) to feature six teams with expansion plans calling for a 12-team league by the 2010 season. BSL teams will provide an opportunity for numerous players to improve their talents and possibly move on to a major league affiliated organization. At the same time, the BSL will provide a viable entertainment resource to the communities involved and enhance all levels of baseball in the area.
